Fabulous location, close to sea, and cool, delightful woods. Small but perfectly formed b&b, spacious rooms and bathrooms.
Stayed here twice before, but feel the place has lost it's magic in the hands of the present owners. First visited when owned and operated by the founders, travel writer Karen Brown (I think!), And it was just about as perfect as a small inn could be. Now there doesn't seem to be the care vested in the place, and the small touches are missing. Shame.
It was quiet and beautiful. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.
They should have a coffee service in the morning starting at 7 am. Breakfast gets served at 8:30.and coffee was not available until then.. For what you pay per night it's something that would be appreciated
Breathtaking beaches close by, wonderful staff, fireplaces with logs in all rooms, gardens even beautiful in Feb, and spacious rooms.
I loved their attention to detail, for example the printed walking directions to surrounding restaurants and beaches, the complimentary bottle of wine, and the turn town service. I think it really adds to the experience and made me feel I was getting my moneys worth. The location was beautiful, and remote, we were only there for a night but felt so relaxed and recharged after our stay.
The innkeeper and manager were very friendly and helpful. Booked.net showed availability when there actually wasn't any but the the innkeeper managed to squeeze us in after a cancellation. We were really grateful! The rooms are cozy and ours had a fireplace. Very Romantic!
There wasn't anything I didn't like but they could add a spa or hot tub to further enhance the experience.
I loved my comfy bed and that I could see into the garden. I was pleased to find a fridge in my room and delighted to have the means of making a fire in the grate
I was surprised to find the toilet seat partially detached from its moorings [but informed the staff and am confident they will sort it out] a slightly bigger bath would be lovely [the bathroom being spacious enough to accommodate]. and although coffee is available from the dining room would prefer to have tea+coffee facilities in the room.
Friendly staff. The room was great. Next to ocean and trees. Loved it!
Lovely location and great breakfast.
Our previous stay, 5 years previous, was in a room down the hall for the same price. That room was much larger and contained the advertised spa bath.
Could have got a better seal if I would have called the Seal cove for reservations. .
The service, the atmosphere, and enjoyed the wildlife , very peaceful. We will be back.
